NHS Health Checks
If you’re aged 40 – 74, your GP or the local authority will invite you to a free health check every five years (unless you already have a pre-existing condition). It’s designed to help spot early signs of stroke, heart disease, kidney disease, dementia and type 2 diabetes so you can get personal advice and help reduce the risk of developing such conditions.
More information on the local service is available on their Facebook page.
In the meantime, there are other ways to get your health checked
Please remember, if you’re worried about your health, don’t wait for your NHS health check. Contact your GP or telephone NHS 111 for advice.
