Nearly There

Albion House – the last remaining tower block in Grimsby – is nearly gone.

One of six high-rise structures dismantled from top to bottom since March, it marks the start of a new era for the East Marsh.

Dominating the North East Lincolnshire skyline for over 50 years, plans for the demolition were announced in September 2014 following extensive consultation and majority support.

It is anticipated that the site will be cleared by November 2018.

LHP are working with local agencies including North East Lincolnshire Council to seek views on what future use the cleared site should be used for.

At this stage there is no firm decision on what that may be but demolition and a cleared site presents a genuine opportunity for potential development which could revitalise and significantly change this historical but often forgotten area in the heart of Grimsby.

The site will continue to be monitored by 24 hour security.
